Internet Privacy
I believe everyone needs his or her own privacy. No one wants to be exploited in real life never mind all over the Internet where everyone in the world can search for you and find out absolutely anything and everything about you. So why is everyone still giving out personal information about themselves? I feel everyone has a false sense of security when browsing the Internet. They have the mind frame that they have been to this site a hundred times and nothing has ever happened to them before, so it is safe to give them all of my personal information. Maybe they just came to the terms that "Oh this will never happen to me." The truth is it will happen, researchers proved it in this article. They were able to correctly identify over 5 million social security numbers in the United States alone. Information you type on the web gets stored in a data base and stays in the network forever. You may think, "I can delete it and be all set" but it could have already spread to other networks before you delete it. Here you are thinking everything is fine, your always cautious and wham, you get whacked with a large credit card bill with outrageous purchases you never made. Purchases that do not even make sense because you would never shop there or places that are hundreds of miles away and you never even left the state that month. There needs to be better privacy programs to make this world a safer place. The Internet needs better structure to keep thieves from stealing personal information.
